ROUND 5:  SANTA POD RACEWAY, 5-8 SEPTEMBER 2019

Jan Ericsson won this combined FIA/Motorsport UK race and sealed the FIA European Pro Modified championship in the process, but it was the unforeseen progress of Jean Dulamon to the final that seized the attention. Twelfth qualifier Jean Dulamon struck lucky when opponents Roger Johansson broke and Jimmy Ålund surprisingly red-lit, but his holeshot dismissal of Mats Eriksson while clocking career-best figures of 5.995sec, 242.43mph was the highlight. Dulamon red-lit against Jan Ericsson in the final.

Jimmy Ålund’s pole-position 5.780sec and Jan Ericsson’s 249.49mph were low elapsed time and top speed of the event. Marck Harteveld failed to qualify but still holds a slender Motorsport UK points lead over Kevin Slyfield. The British championship will be decided at the National Finals later this month.
